Megan Danelz

Music Therapist, Board-Certified, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit-Music Therapist Owner and Founder

Megan Danelz, MT-BC, NICU-MT is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and founder of Heart Strings Music Therapy Services, LLC. A graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, Megan earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. She has a certification in Music Therapy through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) with an additional credential for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU-MT).

Her scope of practice includes but is not limited to services in private practice, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), memory care facilities and nursing homes, public and private schools, and in other medical settings. Megan works with people at every walk of life which include children with developmental delays, children who are at-risk, substance abuse and addiction recovery, mental health, and individuals with multiple diagnoses. She serves populations that include individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, genetic disorders, sensory processing disorders, Alzheimer’s, Traumatic Brain Injury, and speech and language difficulties. Megan often works as part of an interdisciplinary team (Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapy) by consulting, co-treating, and collaborating with other therapeutic disciplines and educational professionals.

Megan is an actively involved member of the American Music Therapy Association, the webmaster of the Music Therapy Association of South Carolina, and the South East Region of the American Music Therapy Association.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Megan enjoys chasing around her beautiful daughter and spending time with her husband, especially while on adventures in the great outdoors.

Abby Foster, MM, MT-BC, NICU-MT

Abby Foster

Music Therapist, Board-Certified, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapist

Abby Foster is a board-certified music therapist based in the Greenville, SC area. She joined Heart Strings Music Therapy Services, LLC in August 2023 and brings diverse clinical experience to her work.

A Florida native, Abby earned both her bachelor’s (B.M. 2020) and master’s (M.M. 2021) degrees in Music Therapy from Florida State University where she studied clarinet and received a certificate in Special Music Education. She completed her internship at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare where she gained training and experience across a rich sampling of medical populations, including, but not limited to: intensive care, oncology, pediatrics, medical-surgical, outpatient rehabilitation, and emergency care.

While completing her master’s degree, she worked for Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare as a neonatal music therapist, providing services for the inpatient population as well as the outpatient population where she provided in-home developmental services for NICU graduates. She centered her graduate research on music therapy interventions as a treatment modality for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, a population she has a great passion for.

Abby moved to the Greenville area in 2021 where she spent two years providing music therapy services in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for adult patients receiving both acute and long-term care.

Abby is a proud alumna of the Florida State University Marching Chiefs and a loyal Seminoles fan. She loves hiking and exploring the Upstate with her husband, Steven, and their golden retriever, Penny. Abby is passionate about using music to support healing, growth, and connection across all ages and abilities.
